Camping by the sea

The campsite on the North Sea beach in Dornumersiel

North Sea camping between the dyke and the Wadden Sea

Welcome to one of the most beautiful campsites on the North Sea, right in the middle between dykes, beach and the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. With us you will spend quiet and natural holidays. We've even envented a word for ist - FREILENZEN. Derived from the German words for leisure time and lazing about, it's a way of live. Nevertheless, you are not far off the beaten path - the fishing port and the town center with shops and restaurants are very close. In addition to 100 permanent parking spaces, there are 200 more for caravans and mobile homes, as well as 60 tent spaces. The sanitary facilities are modern, barrier-free and family-friendly. In the morning there is fresh bread on request. If the North Sea is still too cold - the entry to the heated open sea water pool next door is included.

  • Cozy campsite in front of a fascinating natural backdrop

  • A wide range of overnight accommodations: from caravans, mobile homes and tents to pipo wagons and North Sea carts

  • Modern equipment of the sanitary buildings Barke and Boje. The Boje is equipped with a children's bath

  • The largest kite spot on the East Frisian North Sea coast

  • Just a short hop to the North Sea islands of Baltrum and Langeoog

  •

As a certified North Sea bath, Dornumersiel offers many applications with the power of the sea, whether in the therapy & wellness center, in the outdoor pool or in the inhalation house

Looking at nature from a new angle

Our Romany caravans are based on traditional circus caravans. They boast a floorspace of 9 x 2,85 metres (including the covered veranda) and modern fixtures and fittings, providing everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Plus that little bit extra. The seven comfortabale solid wood caravans each feature a living room with a cosy bunk for 2 people, a wardrobe, a small WC, a comy sofa, a dining area and a fully-equipped kitchenette with a cooker and a fridge. Bed linen is also provided free of charge and the caravans can be heated on chilly days. When the sun sinks into the sea, you can relax and enjoy the evening on the small covered veranda.

Our North Sea trailers: real eye-catchers!

The spacious 4,40 x 2,30 metre wooden trailers are also based on a historical ancestor, the shepherd's hut. The solid wood trailers boast modern, high-quality equipment: a double bed, a wardrobe, a kitchenette with a cooker and fridge, as well as a cupboard and a lovely dining area by the window. The trailers can be heated on chilly days. You can enjoy the view of the North Sea and the distant horizon from the veranda.

But the location of the Romany caravans and Noth Sea trailers is not only ideal in terms of the view: the washrooms, shop, snack bar and restaurant, as well as the heated seawater lido and the leisure activities, are within quick and eay reach.

Camping with a dog

At our camp site you can spend carefree holidays on the North Sea coast in the company of your dog. We have 69 pitches in two separate pitch areas for dog-loving campers. Dogs must be kept on a lead throughout the camp site.

The "Hellerpad" dog trail runs along the high tide line to the west of the main beach area. It features beach chairs and a water entry into the North Sea for your dog.

There are dog waste stations with free dog waste bags on the campsite. You can also get these in the camp site registration and at the beach ticket offices. There are many more dog waste stations in the community and the tourist hubs. There is also a dog shower at the campsite.

Dog leash compulsory in Dornumersiel

A cozy, quiet campsite, wonderfully located on the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park with a fascinating natural landscape and animal world - that's what our camping guests like so much. In order to maintain this, your dog must be kept on a leash at the campsite, on the dog meadow and dog trails, in the Wadden Sea, in the North Sea and generally in Dornumersiel.
